Two teenagers, Paloma Gallardo, 16 years old, and Josué Salvatierra, 14, who had disappeared last Thursday, were found dead in Florencio Varela, Buenos Aires province. The bodies of the young people were discovered under a bridge near the Champion battery factory.
Authorities worked at the crime scene for several hours and the main hypothesis currently points to a "double homicide." It is being investigated whether the bodies were bound, although this information has not been confirmed by the police.
The families raised the alarm after the teenagers did not return home. Josué Salvatierra's parents reported his disappearance to the police after finding his home empty. On the other hand, Paloma Gallardo's father mentioned that his daughter was last seen going to the gym near the square, and when she did not come back home, they became worried and decided to report it.
So far, it has not been confirmed whether it was a double homicide or a murder followed by a suicide. Although the hypothesis of human trafficking was considered, authorities have not supported this theory. The local community is shocked by this tragic event, and it is hoped that the facts will be clarified as soon as possible.
